From 6 to 17 November, the 23rd World Climate Conference (COP23) took place in Bonn. Representatives from almost all countries of the world attended the conference in order to advance international negotiations on climate protection.

The fight against climate change is a global challenge – which cannot succeed without the participation of society. The young generation is particularly challenged in this regard. They will be particularly affected by climate change and its consequences.

On the occasion of the 23rd World Climate Conference, nexus therefore conceived and organised the youth dialogue “Our Climate! Our Future” for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. On 29 September 2017, around 200 young people aged 16 to 25 met for dialogue events in Bochum, Nuremberg and Eberswalde to discuss their opinions and positions on climate protection. The results of all three events were summarised in a further meeting by some of the young people and young adults and recommendations formulated, which were handed over to the Federal Minister for the Environment and presented at the World Climate Conference. Here you can also read the press release of the Federal Environment Ministry of 07.09.2017.
