In Berlin, the Coalition Agreement includes an agreement to expand and deepen citizen participation. As part of the project, nexus is designing and organising a major kick-off event with the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, and the Senator responsible for nursing care, Dilek Kalayci. The event on 19 September 2019 offered more than 200 participants the opportunity to get actively involved in a citizens’ dialogue and to become familiar with the tools with which the dialogue will be continued until the end of 2020.

To this end, nexus is developing a “toolbox for dialogues”, with materials that offer diverse tools designed for a wide variety of targeted groups: schoolchildren, adults, individuals working in nursing care, individuals in need of care, and individuals with varying standards of living. Additionally, an accompanying handbook explains possible applications of the toolbox and offers ready-made action plans. The “toolbox for dialogues” is available from the Senate Administration.
The results of the dialogues will be collected and evaluated and are to be incorporated into the dialogue which will be continued in 2020.
